The Langham, Melbourne Embraces the Spring Racing Season

October 2015...Until Sunday 8 November, guests will have their sartorial choices rewarded when they select to wear a hat to lunch this spring. To celebrate the Spring Racing Carnival, The Langham, Melbourne is giving all lunch guests at Melba Restaurant who don a hat a complimentary glass of premium Australian sparkling wine.

Aria Bar & Lounge

For those who like to get into the racing spirit by sipping something inspired by the races, Aria Bar & Lounge has created a limited edition collection of cocktails, including the aptly named Giddy Up, Racecourse Revelry, Flemington Fling. The latter will tempt those who like Cosmopolitans with its mix of Absolut Vodka, Cointreau, cranberry juice and mango juice while the Giddy Up features Absolut Vodka, lemon juice, passionfruit pulp, mango liqueur and sugar syrup. Racecourse Revelry is a heady mix of Hendricks gin, Midori, pineapple and lemon juice with a splash of sugar syrup. The Cocktails are $19.00 each and available until Sunday 8 November.

Melba Restaurant

There are those who may want to get into the atmosphere of the races without being trackside. For these racing enthusiasts, Melba Restaurant is hosting two very special race day lunches on Melbourne Cup Day, Tuesday 3 November and on Oaks Day, Thursday 5 November. Hosted by The Langham, Melbourne's ambassador, Gorgi Coghlan and with live entertainment by Fem Belling, best known for her recent appearance on The Voice, the day is certain to be memorable for all those that attend.

Oversized plasma screens will broadcast the action taking place at Flemington Racecourse while guests will dine from Melba Restaurant's expansive and varied international interactive kitchens. In addition, as a special keepsake from the day, every guest will be presented with a signature print from renowned illustrator Kerrie Hess.

The lunches kick off from 12.30pm on race day. $125.00 per person is inclusive of a glass of sparkling on arrival on Melbourne Cup Day and on Oaks Day $125.00 per person includes a bottomless glass of premium sparkling wine.
