L’ Artisan Cheese
Founded by third-generation French cheesemaker Matthieu Megard, L’ Artisan cheese highlights the terroir of the Great Ocean Road. Using local organic milk from a single herd of Jersey cows to make his range of cheeses. Matthieu set out to make cheeses that reflected the local Victorian terroir whilst capturing the essence of some of France’s most loved cheeses.
A decadent triple cream cheese with a fluffy white mould and creamy paste, in the style of the French Brillat Savarin. Mild and creamy when young, it develops a soft bite and softening texture at maturity.
A distinctive streak of charcoal marks the centre of this semi-hard organic cow’s milk cheese. Full-flavoured with a lingering nuttiness and rustic washed rind
L’Artisan Mountain Man
This complex yet smooth cheese has been made in true Reblochon style, with a gently washed rind. Made from pasteurised milk, it is surprisingly complex in taste and soft in texture.
Berry’s Creek Tarwin Blue South Gippsland, Victoria
Taking its name from the local Tarwin River, after maturation in a small room next to the dairy for a minimum of two months, the rich buttery texture becomes interspersed with dark blue veins and develops a distinct creamy blue finis.
